Framework

Governance of our content

Education that will be filed next to an audit trail has to be governed like any other controlled document. This page sets out the boundary of the service, the editorial rules, the review calendar, the expectations we place on instructors, and how a correction is handled.

Boundary

Scope boundary

Investmentmasteryhub provides education. It does not manage money, select instruments, construct a portfolio for a client, or issue a personal recommendation to buy, sell or hold any financial instrument. It does not offer financial products and it does not receive commission from product providers or asset managers. A programme may use a public, dated example. That example is teaching material. It is not a suggestion that the same position should be taken now.

The boundary is operational, not decorative. Instructors are told what to do when a participant asks “what should I buy” or “would you hold this fund”. The answer is a refusal, a restatement of the educational purpose, and a direction back to an authorised person inside the participant’s organisation or to a licensed adviser of the participant’s choosing. The instructor does not soften the refusal into an informal view “off the record”.

The same limit applies to written channels. We will not review a personal holding, comment on a specific security as if it were suitable for the writer, or rewrite a committee paper so that it becomes our recommendation. If a commissioning organisation wants advice, it already has — or should appoint — a firm that is permitted to give it. Our file stays an education file.

Editorial

Editorial standards

Figures in materials carry a source and a date. If a chart is illustrative rather than empirical, it is labelled as such. Models are shown with their assumptions written next to them, not in a footnote that a hurried reader will skip. Every worked example includes a sentence on what the example cannot support.

Past performance is not used as an expectation of future results. Where a historical path is shown, it is shown to teach a mechanism or a failure, and the caption says so. We do not rank products, and we do not use a league table as a teaching shortcut.

Language stays plain. Jargon is defined the first time it is needed and then used consistently. We do not replace a precise term with a warmer synonym if the precise term is what a committee will meet in a live paper.

Calendar

Review and update

Annual full review

Every module is read against its outcomes, its sources and its assessments at least once a year. A module that cannot still defend its outcomes is rewritten or withdrawn.

Quarterly regulatory check

Modules that teach the supervisory frame are checked each quarter against publicly issued texts. A change in force is scheduled into the next version; a correction of our own error is issued sooner.

Immediate update

A change that would make a current statement wrong — not merely incomplete — triggers an immediate revision and a note to organisations with an open cohort.

Version lock

Each issued brief carries a version identifier. Completions are recorded against that version so that a later reader knows which text a participant actually saw.

Instructors

Instructor standards

Live sessions are taken by instructors who have worked in markets, in supervision, or in a control function that sits next to those activities. They hold a relevant professional qualification and complete an annual internal briefing on the boundary between education and advice. We do not publish names, biographies or photographs of instructors on this site. The commissioning organisation receives the names of the people who will appear in its own sessions, as part of the delivery plan, not as marketing.

An instructor who cannot keep the boundary — who answers a personal “what should I buy” with a view — is removed from live delivery. The standard is the same whether the session is online or in a boardroom.

Corrections

Complaints and corrections

If an organisation finds an error in a module — a mis-stated rule, a wrong date, a chart that does not match its source — it writes to [email protected] with the module version and the passage. We acknowledge within two working days and say whether we accept the error.

An accepted error produces a correction note to organisations that used that version, and a revised module for subsequent cohorts. If the error could have misled a live assessment, we offer an optional replacement activity. We do not hide a correction inside a silent file replace.

A complaint about conduct in a session is handled on the same address, separately from a content correction. We will not discuss another organisation’s cohort with a complainant who does not represent it.

Access

Accessibility and inclusion

Materials are written in plain language and designed for keyboard use, readable contrast and captions. Transcripts are available for recorded explanations. Time-limited checks can be extended when a coordinator asks, provided the extension is recorded. We do not treat accessibility as a separate product line.

Inclusion also means that cases do not assume a single career path or a single type of household. Examples are about organisational decisions. Personal wealth stories are not used as motivation, and we do not write to an implied reader who is trying to become rich.

Questions about how a specific cohort will be supported belong in scoping. The briefing request is the place to raise them.
